Your First Lesson
  • Your first lesson is FREE!

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Please arrive 15-20 before the start of your first practice

  • Skates and helmets are provided

  • You will be grouped with others with similar ablitiy level

  • Coaches will teach you proper technique

WHAT TO WEAR

  • Long sleeves and long pants are REQUIRED! Recommended items include:

    • Light jacket or sweatshirt

    • Cycling/athletic pant

    • Full-finger gloves

    • Cycling/sport helmet

    • Knee pads / wrist guards are optional

A TYPICAL PRACTICE:

  • Warm-Up - 15- 20 Minutes

    • Big, slow laps​

  • Skills Groups

    • Group 1 - Fast Skaters​

    • Group 2 - Medium Skaters

    • Group 3 - Slower/New Skaters

  • Removal of Pads

SAFETY:

  • Skate ONLY in a counter-clockwise direction

  • Stay in the center of the ice until your group is called onto the track

  • Return to the center of the ice when the next group is called 

  • Always skate your track - do not move if skaters are passing you - they will go around you

  • DO NOT exit the ice when skaters are skating on the track - it is expected skaters will stay on the ice for the entire practice

  • Look over your shoulder when leaving the track to make sure no one is coming up behind you

  • Ask other skaters if you have questions

  • Children: No horseplay or tag is allowed
