Founded in 1988, the West Michigan Speedskating club has introduced hundreds of people of all ages to the sport of short-track speedskating. The club attracts members from acorss West Michigan at its two rinks in Grand Rapids and Muskegon. Over the years the club has seen a number of members achieve success at the national and international level. Kimberly Derrick, a 2010 Olympic Bronze Medalist, got her start with the club.
